Kol Nidre

By Hear Me

I stand here before you

Humble

In awe

In reflection

Today is the day I feel closest to you

I ask that you write my name in the holiest of books for another year

The precious book of life

In reflection I ponder the deepest of thoughts

Knowing I should feel close to you all during all the times of the year

It is wrong to say that I do

It must be said

When my prayers are spoken on all other days

Do you hear them?

So many others have much greater needs

There is war

Famine

Flood

And fear

You offer comfort to those with greatest of needs

Do you hear my prayers when I am lost?

For I too need to feel your comfort

At last the shofar is sounded

The book is closed

It has been written

You have heard my prayers

Thank you so much. This year was a very special year for me as our guest Rabbi was an opera student. As I heard her sing Kol Nidre in an operatic voice it truly sent chills through me. La Shana Tova to you and your family.
